Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s (NHFG) public boat access facility at Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham, NH, will be closed beginning the evening of Tuesday, October 15, 2025. The facility will reopen on Thursday, October 17. During the closure, several hazardous trees will be removed from an area immediately adjacent to the ramp. To ensure an efficient worksite and public safety, the facility’s ramp, parking area, and shore bank will be closed for the entire day on Wednesday, October 15. There will be no opportunity to fish or launch canoes, kayaks, or any other type of watercraft. Swimming is not allowed at NHFG’s boat ramps.
New Hampshire’s Public Boat Access Program is funded through boat registration fees and federal Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration funds. Fish and Game’s Facilities and Lands Division acquires land for public water access sites, refurbishes existing sites, and builds new public boat access areas.
